Scope of Works
As a sub-designer during the detailed design phase, Pontech addressed complex engineering challenges due to the project’s high seismic location, with scope including:
- Structural design of Pi-section viaducts and voided slab bridges at transition spans between the existing and extended alignments;
- Production of shop drawings to support construction of these structural elements.
The Manila LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project (L1CEP) extends the existing LRT-1 line from Baclaran to Bacoor, Cavite, adding 11.7 km of elevated track and 8 new stations.
Phase 1, which opened in November 2024, covers 6.2 km and includes 5 stations: Redemptorist–ASEANA, MIA Road, PITX, Ninoy Aquino Avenue, and Dr. Santos.
Phases 2 and 3, expected to be completed by 2031, will extend the line further to Bacoor.
The project aims to reduce traffic congestion and promote economic development in the southern part of Metro Manila.
