Scope of Works
- Developing an innovative structural concept using a two-span prestressed concrete viaduct with U-shaped cross-sections to address vertical clearance constraints over the highway;
- Designing the superstructure within a limited structural depth envelope, while ensuring compliance with stringent requirements for mixed-use railway system (freight and high-speed passenger);
- Addressing seismic challenges due to the project’s location in a high seismic zone;
- Successfully delivering the full design package, from conceptual design to detailed design, within a tight timeline.
Etihad Railway Project – Phase 2D is part of the UAE’s national railway expansion plan. This phase involves the construction of approximately 132–148 km of new railway lines, connecting Sharjah and Dubai to the Port of Fujairah, with additional branches to Tawyeen and Khorfakkan.
The project aims to enhance connectivity across the northern and eastern emirates and foster regional economic development as an integral component of the GCC railway network.
