The project includes the extension of the boarding hall of the existing Mayotte international airport, and the construction of a new airport commercial center.
Pontech is in charge of the project management for structural design (MOE mission according to French law: from preliminary design to sitework supervision). This is a particularly complex project in terms of structural issues: very high wind load and earthquake, structures using 3 different materials (concrete, steel, and timber), and special aesthetical form of the roof. Wind effect has been studied using dynamic air flow analysis. BIM procedure with Revit software is used for this project.
